What We Do

Mercury Movie Makers promotes Amateur Film making by sharing ideas and knowledge.

The programme for our meetings is varied and can be:

.     Guests from other clubs or societies are invited to show their films, explaining how and why they were made.

.     Member's show their own films to get advice on how to improve their skills.

.     Training programmes are given by members. Topics such as “Script Writing”, “Know your camera”, “Use of lighting”, “Use of sound”, “Computer editing” etc.

.     Within the Club, we hold competitions with classes such as:- Documentary, Holiday & Travel, Music Video, Fiction etc.

.     Technical evenings: discussing exploring and experimenting with new techniques or filmmaking equipment.

.  Social get-togethers with other similar film-making groups to watch our latest films.

From our extensive back catalogue, we often entertain local clubs or groups with a one- or two-hour film show.
